EY WeVerse
The WeVerse was the first set of worlds in the Metaverse Engine - the underlying infrastructure for a massive enterprise metaverse environment. The WeVerse was built to combat the felt distance between coworkers in remote settings, where coincidental opportunities to bump into each other and find common ground no longer existed. This was a space to advertise company values and for employees to play minigames, explore, find easter eggs, and leave a mark on the environment for others to see.
The Metaverse Engine itself is capable of handling >10,000 concurrent users, with encrypted chat channels, WebRTC video, custom avatar system, enterprise login, 2D web version and 3D VR for Quest, with any number of dynamically loading worlds. New worlds could be built in Unity and uploaded via a custom extension in unity. Once uploaded, various mechanisms could be used to visit those worlds, most notably, portals from other worlds.
